VISION

Our Vision at Holy Comforter is “Let Your Light Shine” which is inspired by Jesus’ words in the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5:14-16:

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

This Vision for Holy Comforter is behind every decision and ministry we undertake. As Christians, as bearers of Christ in the world, we are called to shine the light of Christ’s love into the darkness of this world. It is through our witness that Christ is made known, and God is glorified.

CORE VALUES

Holy Spirit, Holy Scripture, Holy Tradition

Holy Spirit

We are a Church dedicated to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is given to us in Baptism and helps us throughout our lives to follow Jesus, to grow in holiness and virtue, and to turn from sin.

Holy Scripture

We are grounded in Holy Scripture. As Anglicans we believe that the Bible is the Word of God and contains all things necessary to salvation. Because Scripture is God’s Word, we honor it and use it to learn about our God, to hear Him speak to us, and we allow it
to transform our lives.

Holy Tradition

As Anglicans we put great value on Holy Tradition because we are a historic Church, and we trace our history all the way back to the New Testament. We are governed by Bishops in Apostolic Succession, and we believe, uphold, and proclaim everything found in the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.
